Library

The Society's library includes books and pamphlets on Hertfordshire, with an emphasis on St Albans and books relevant to the Society's wider interests. Most of the books and journals may be borrowed by SAHAAS members.

From 20 April 2016 the library has been based at Unit 4, Door 26, Sandridge Gate Business Centre, Ronsons Way, St Albans, AL4 9XR. Please see the full address details here.

It is open on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10am until noon. If you cannot come during opening hours please contact the library team who can tell you what material is available and make photocopies.

The library team is Anne Wares, Tony Cooper, Frank Iddiols, Donald Munro & Jon Mein and can be contacted by email from our contacts page. More volunteers are needed to keep the library open on two mornings a week. You do not need to be a qualified librarian but will be shown how the catalogue works and asked to assist visitors in finding information – please contact the library team.

Ultimately there will be a fully computerised catalogue and bibliography of books, pamphlets, journal articles, reports and other sources on this website. While we continue with this work we have produced several interim catalogues and indexes, the details and links for which are below.
