How to use the Adobe Reader

For viewing and searching .pdf files

Installing the Adobe Reader
Adobe .pdf files require an Adobe Acrobat Reader. Most computers have the Reader already installed, but if yours doesn't a free one can be downloaded from Adobe's website. The Reader will be permanently installed on your computer but it is updated from time to time so make sure you have the latest version (Adobe Reader 9 in March).

Opening a file
To read a file click on its link and the Reader will open it; this may take a minute or two, depending upon the speed of your system. Some of the Transactions include a fair amount of blank page so be prepared to scroll down some way.

Help
The Reader includes a comprehensive Help page. Open a page and then click on Adobe Reader Help in the menu at the top, or simply press key F1 on your keyboard. A new browser page will open showing the Help as a website. (The picture here is only a small part of the whole site.)
