SAHAAS Journals Database

June 2016

Donald Munro

The aim of the Database is to make it easier to access research contained in various journals held in the Society's library (and elsewhere) that focus on Hertfordshire in general and/or specifically on St Albans and its neighbourhood. It is updated twice a year (in January and July) to reflect material published in the previous six months.

The Database is published in MS Excel spreadsheet format.

 SAHAAS Journals Database - July 2016 (2501k)

The journals covered by the SAHAAS database (1147k)

The Society's Library has copies of most editions of these journals. However, we have no volumes of the Transactions of the East Herts Archaeological Society, and only some parts of the Herts Illustrated Review and Home Counties Magazine.

Locally, the Abbey Muniment Room (for the Alban Link only) and St Albans Central Library have copies where we do not, that is apart from one edition of the Herts Illustrated Review which is held only by HALS at Hertford. Locations are marked on the spreadsheet in the 'Library' column using the following abbreviations:

  • A&A = SAHAAS Library
  • Abbey = Abbey Muniment Room (for the Alban Link); contact the Abbey's Administrator for access details, 01727 890208
  • HALS = Herts Archives & Local Studies (for Herts Illustrated Review Vol. 2 No. 2 and the EHAS Transactions)
  • SAL = St Albans Central Library (for parts of the Herts Illustrated Review and Home Counties Magazine, shelf mark LOC 942.58)
