Welcome to the new St Albans History community research pages.  It has been developed by a group of volunteers who are all members of the St Albans Architectural and Archaeological Society.

The collection of material which has been entered on to the site is just the tip of the iceberg.  We hope many more Society members and local residents will help us to build a living picture of the city and district both as it was in the 19th century and, as the site grows, to include other time periods.

We have arranged the site into various sections which we hope will make it easy for you to look around and encourage you to enter your own research into the fascinating history of St Albans.
