The Society's website

The Society’s website celebrates the unique heritage of our city with a wide range of illustrated articles, some dating back as far as 1846, others posted within the last few weeks. Much of the historical content is organised in several major categories, including Archaeology, Buildings and Social History.

There are also features on the Society’s Library, its Research activities and its Publications, all of which are vital to both creating and spreading awareness information about our rich past.

If you’d like to take your interest in our local history further, you can make use of the features we’ve added to the website in recent months, including the ability to join online, to donate money to the Society, and to buy publications from our online bookshop. We welcome new members!
