A further selection of surplus books is now available for sale to members at a moderate price.The publications available this time concentrate on topics linked to St Albans and Hertfordshire.  They include a 1938 first edition of The Place-Names of Hertfordshire, a couple of titles relating to John Carrington (the ‘Hertfordshire Pepys’), and two of a rather more quirky nature: The 84 Bus to St Albans, and Tominey’s City Ices.  Items will be sold on a first-come first-served basis up to a closing date of December 22nd 2021.  Initial contact should be made via email to library@stalbanshistory.org

The SAHAAS Library holds one of the largest local history collections on St Albans and Hertfordshire, comprising books, pamphlets, periodicals and other source and secondary materials as well as reference works relevant to the Society's interests. The Library is now open again and enquiries by email are invited. However, with the continuing requirement for social distancing, numbers of visitors are restricted.  A limited number of personal appointments may be available; in the first instance, please email us at library@stalbanshistory.org. 

The Library will close for Christmas at 12 noon on Wednesday 22 December and re-open after the New Year at 10am on Wednesday 5 January 2022.
