Conference: 'Silent Witnesses: The Archaeology of Burials, Churchyards, and their Contexts'

The Society for Church Archaeology (SCA) is holding its conference this year in St Albans. There are two talks of local interest and plenty of more general appeal. As Prof. Biddle’s keynote lecture is particularly pertinent and with places limited, early booking is recommended.

Reception and keynote lecture by Prof. Martin Biddle: Christianity at Verulamium and the Origins of St Albans Abbey

Conference including a talk about the recent excavation in the Monks’ Graveyard at the Cathedral.

Venue: the new Visitors’ Centre at St Albans Cathedral
Hertfordshire Churches Coach Trip (visiting churches in Ashwell, Hitchin, Reed and Wheathampstead)
