Elizabeth Eastwood introduces us to two formidable local female campaigners. Lady Constance Lytton, daughter of the 1st Earl of Lytton, was a leading member of the suffragettes. Mary came to live at Stocks House, Aldbury and was involved with the Women’s National Anti-Suffrage League.

She is a member of the St Albans Tour Guides and has guided in St Albans since 1984. Having Chaired the St Albans Guides she is now chair of the East Anglia Tourist Guides and of the national body the British Guild of Tourist Guides.
