Seminar: Maps from the SAHAAS Collection (FULLY SUBSCRIBED)
November 21, 2019 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM at SAHAAS Library, Sandridge Gate Business Centre, Ronsons Way, St Albans, AL4 9XR
Please note: as the original seminar on 21 November was over-subscribed, Frank Iddiols has agreed to run repeat sessions on 19 December and 6 February. Both the first two sessions are at maximum capacity, so attendees might find attending the 6 February session a more satisfactory experience. Please let Kate Morris (contact details below) know if you are able to move to 6 February.
Speaker: Frank Iddiols
Maps form a lasting record of the history of an area. That record will be explored through a selection of maps held in the Society’s extensive collection. Why were they drawn and how useful are they in understanding the historic background? Consideration will be given to the chronology, the level of accuracy and reliability of maps as a source of reference for research and even for general interest.
This session is now fully subscribed. If you are able to swap to the session on 6 February, please email Kate Morris at firstname.lastname@example.org. There is no charge for members; non-members pay £5.00.
