Seminar: Maps from the SAHAAS Collection
February 6, 2020 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM at SAHAAS Library, Sandridge Gate Business Centre, Ronsons Way, St Albans, AL4 9XR
Speaker: Frank Iddiols
Due to popular demand, Frank has kindly agreed to provide a third opportunity to participate in a seminar about historical maps of St Albans
Maps form a lasting record of the history of an area. That record will be explored through a selection of maps held in the Society’s extensive collection. Why were they drawn and how useful are they in understanding the historic background? Consideration will be given to the chronology, the level of accuracy and reliability of maps as a source of reference for research and even for general interest. In advance of the seminar, you can read about the Society’s collection of maps.
