A Plan of the town of St Albans drawn by Benjamin Hare in 1634
Even though this booklet’s title suggests that a copy of the Hare map is included, this was originally not the case. Instead, when the booklet was published in 1900, the Society provided a separate copy of the map, printed two years earlier, to accompany it.
For this digital re-publication, we have combined a low-resolution scan of a modern printed version of the map together with the original booklet. The Society is grateful to the St Albans Museums for permission to use their printed copy of the map for this purpose.
Copies of the map are currently on sale in the Museums’ shops.
